Precast components

Many precast components are rather thin due to both the low operating stress and in order to limit the weight and assist handling and carriage. In order to reinforce these components, which is necessary for the transient stress during handling and laying, steel fibre reinforcing is more effective than traditional reinforcing where reduced thicknesses are concerned. Other advantages obtained by using fibres:
  • Reduced labour and increased productivity;
  • Increased flaw resistance;
  • Stronger mix with increased resistance at critical points, particularly on edges;
